  1. Advice on old metal cemetery sign

    More like ugly ugly.
  2. Sealing ACM panel signs?

You can get edge lifting on ACM with cast materials too. We have found that how you treat the cut edges makes a big difference. There is often a ridge on the edge from cutting, and if you don't sand that down before installing the graphics, it will trigger premature vinyl failure.
  3. Font Help Please

The image is a bit too low resolution to work well in font matching software. I tried for you. But if I had to bet, I would say that they are A&S fonts. Peruse their website and see. A&S fonts tend not to come up in font matching software or websites.
  4. Question How do you prepare your install crew for an install?

Whether you're a fan of it or not, the fact is that if you want things to flow smoothly and to get done right, without constant calls and hassles, paperwork is key. The job is not complete until the paperwork is done. I once read that in a toilet stall. It was true there and it is true in real...
  5. Nix Color Spectrometer

I've used it to do channel letter raceways on a few jobs and it's done well enough on that. When I first got it I checked its ability to identify Avery vinyl colors and it was spot on with those.
  6. Nix Color Spectrometer

I use the little Nix to measure colors of things on location, i.e. color of wall to match raceway color. Not sure if the additional features of the more expensive models actually are useful.
  7. The next generation of adobe users now work among us

https://www.ralcolorchart.com/ RAL is a German system of standardizing paint and plastic colors. They don't give digital equivalents.
  8. Epson Dashboard and ONYX RIP

Print size is too wide for when you are going to cut the print on a plotter. There has to be room for the cutter marks. It depends on the printer and the amount of margin between items you set, but for our cutter we have to tell it we have 52" wide material and then it will work.
  9. Question easiest way to make a template, for REO sign riders

I use the print merge function in Corel Draw to print the signs directly to the RIP.
  10. Anyone know what this "mechanism" is called?

I just searched and it appears several sign suppliers still have them to sell.
  11. EPSON S40600 Repair Service

Well, there's always DecisionOne. You get them by calling Epson Support. Nationwide. I have not found any independent techs doing Epson repair because Epson doesn't really allow it and you can't buy parts from Epson.
  12. Printed Color Change Wrap

Raising price makes it realistically possible to hire someone to cover all the work that is making you busy. The comparison for this particular job is how much the color change would be if done at an autobody shop. Earl Scheib doesn't do color changes for $99.95 any more.
  13. font help

I could be wrong but I seriously doubt it's a font. The crossbar of the A lines up with the crossbar of the t? The h vertical stroke drops that far below baseline? The quotation marks look that different?
  14. Graffiti Remover for Window Graphics

All the solvents that are used to take spray paint off will also take the vinyl off. Or at least dissolve it.
  15. Substrate

Kinda looks like what happens when people use expanded PVC board (Sintra, Trovicel, etc.) for outdoor signage after the sun works on it. I would think that heating with a heat gun might be safer for the ink and plastic than using a torch. Slower. But safer.
