  1. DX4 Head vs DX7 Head?

Dx4 machines and DX7 machines are completely different. While they both print (duh), the DX4 is limited in DPI and speed. A dual head DX7 machine is faster, higher quality, and uses the newer technology inks. That said, one of my favorite machines is the Roland XC-540. The XR-640 would be my...
  2. BANDING

Fix the calibration. Keep going negative until the 2 squares just kiss and dont overlap. If your test print doesnt show any that touch, then enter the value that is closest on the print and then re-run the test print until you can get squares that are touching on your test. Personally, I've...

  4. sp 540v Meganta damper has nipple from rubber stuck in it

That black nipple is ABS plastic, not rubber. You'll need a new manifold (or if you take one off an old head you need to clean it as good as possible and make sure ink flows freely through it). 8. Roland Versacamm SP540v - Extreme Motor Error Noise

few things. The constant grinding noise is some trash down in the vacuum motors. The clunking at every pass when the heads get back near home is the heads hitting the capping station. The 080 error means that the scan motor is constantly drawing too much current until it throws that error to...
  9. Need Help VP540i Printing Massive Errors Please Help!

I would start with replacing the head cables. They are cheap, and usually the cause of the type of issues you're having. I doubt very much that the servo board is the issue, as that board has little to do with the actual printing. The servo board controls the motors and sensors.
  10. Roland sp540v wrong media size

it measures the pinch rollers not the material.
  11. Getting error reading: Caridges seperated while printing on the Roland SolJet XC-540

Encoder strip, scan motor going bad or belt tension are the 3 main sources of this..
