im with KR...i absolutely despise comic sans. I have actually gotten customers to agree to let me do designs over when they bring stuff in using comic sans, and the usual response is...wow i like it so much more like this lol. Papyrus will be this way in a year =P

use a font manager, never keep them all loaded in your computer its not even worth it, especially once you start getting thousands of fonts. No matter how fast your computer is, if you have a system fonts folder that is large in size, its going to take a while to load them all.

there are a ton of good books but personally if I were you and you had the extra money to invest, i would either get a year subscription to lynda.com or buy the dvds you want there an then you can have the tutorials on dvd and all the project files to go with them.
