oh in answer to the signed off question...its not the art work hes not happy with, he says the banners look cheap and "chintzy" as he put it! we used 13oz premium banner material with banner tape and reenforced the edges as they are being placed on the outside wall....grommets etc etc..... he...
yeah, i'd thought about just going over their and picking up the stuff...the've paid the 20% deposit which has been cashed so i figured thats covered the material costs etc. just will end up with 2 banners which are made specifically for that store so can't be used again....bummer really!
to be honest i would have gone over right away after my wife phoned but the place is 40 mins away in normal traffic and at that time it was going to be at least an hour drive due to people coming back from work and by that time they would have been closed! ...although my wife didn't want me to...
hey, got a question....... acouple weeks ago we got asked to quote for a job that was for some window graphics, just cut white vinyl and 2 banners. now i spoke to the woman at the store and then the husband came in, right from the off i didn't like him, he had a bit of an attitude and something...
if your going to be doing banners on a regular basis then its worth investing in some basic tools. get your self a grommet machine/hole punch and some banner tape to start off with. you maybe able to get of the tools used either via the small ads or even on here. its worth looking into if your...
outside we usually do 13oz.....and yeah, don't run a pre grommeted banner through your printer!! if you get a head strike your looking at alot of money for a new head!!! not worth the hassle!
thanks tony, i managed to get it working again,,finally! reread the manual twice, looked up the question on google and managed somehow to do it!! lol......thanks for the reply appreciate it

just reinstalled omega again, seems my plotter works, just not my edge fx! usually theirs an icon on the bottom of the screen near the clock. that has a yellow triangle on it....as the edge fx is connected via an ethernet. that seems to be the problem, nothing is getting through. i didn't remove...
just reformatted my hard drive and attempted to reinstall omega 2.1. my edge fx and plotter do not respond when sending over to print! i called gerber help desk and they said they do no longer help anyone with 2.1 as its too old!!!! so now i'm stuck not being able to print and gerber refuse to...
as chopper says.. good advice.
if you have never done banners before i'm guessing you don't really know whats involved?? if you go the printed route then you will need to hem the banner using either banner tape or stitching(you can use a heat app too). you will also need to grommet the banner...
hmmm...looking at getting one of those mats in the next week or so...figured 100 bucks was cheaper than the 200 bucks for a sheet of glass the same size 4 x 8. hope this isn't too common a problem with waves/ends coming up!
thanks b snyder.......your right on geographical location of course, i just wounder what "average" time a corro sign would last out doors but as you say, it depends on location so maybe not the best question!
this was a full color print and i thought it best to laminate. it wa s a standard 18 x 24 and i know i'll get more business in the future if the prints look good, which they do and if they last, which i hope they do! she wanted coro, thats what she asked for.
i'd be interested to know how...
thanks mosh, just interested in what others do and how they go about doing this kind of thing regarding durability etc. interested that some do laminate and other don't!
so, kr3signguy...take it then you don't/wouldn't laminate coro then!.......by the looks of it alot of people do!
and i'm going on what information i was told by someone whos been doing signs for 22 years now that the coro will fail outside before the print fades or is useless...... hence the...
yeah thats what i thought, looks better and as its going outside for x amount of time it should last. not sure how long their going outside for, their real estate signs so could be weeks or months...you know what this economy is like for real estate is like now!
i just woundered if its worth...
