  1. Maintenance Station Replacement

Hey ian i just switched out my maintenance station on the hp9000. It wasn't technically difficult, but there were a lot of screws to pull from the frame. Do you have magnetized screwdrivers? And you may have to tape a few screws onto the screwdriver to put the back in. If you need a really long...

  6. Is anyone running an HP FB950?

Hay Chris my 2¢ if you are going to buy a flatbed dont buy one that uses grit rollers to move sheets! Sure, me and Mike were early adopters and jumped on the 72uvr from colorspan-it was pretty much the only option then, but now, with so many vac tables, run from the grit rollers way too many...

  8. will I use this fancy hold-down hardware kit?

Sorry to disagree folks, but I think he WILL use these, I have hold downs very similar, as as you get into doing different things with and pushing the limits of your router, these will come in handy. And yes, I too use a big vacuum, spoilboards, screws and the like. But clamps can rock in many...

  10. Seiko 64S...Should I be spending money? Is it a steal at this price?

Actually, I'm NOT! It's called measure, replace fittings, lubricate and install. When HP wants nearly $200 for a 14" piece of tubing, you are damn straight resourceful intelligent machine owners are gonna figure out a better way. If HP didnt try to shove it up our asses so much, maybe...
  11. Seiko 64S...Should I be spending money? Is it a steal at this price?

if you dont want it I'll take it for that $$$ LOL. Seriously, folks, it probably only needs a head, and maybe not, maybe that head just needs to be pulled and flushed. It may even be the damper, or the o-rings, and not the head at all. Dampers are $100+ from HP but like $32 from seiko and less...

  13. endless problems with the DJ 9000s... any clues?

Same issues here on ours, they popped up about a year ago. Drop outs after a meter or two. Cyan and magenta are the worst. We have put over 8 miles of media through our machine, so I expect some issues. We did turn our printhead voltages up and that helped. Also new dampers and o-rings, that...

  15. Let me tell you about Chuck

Sounds crazy, but have you adjusted the ACCELERATION in the software you are using? That machine is jerking when moving because something somewhere is telling it to do that. I can make my Sabre do the same thing if I turn the acceleration all the way up. just a thought that might help. I have a...

  17. Gerber Sabre material question

And make yourself a jig to hold each board in place, something like a piece of MDO 12" x 48 then rout a bunch of U shapes a bit wider than your stock, clamp it on the front and back of the table and use wedges to lock the 1xs in place. That way there will be fast changeout.
