Im refurbing my jv3, it prints Lm all the time. test patterns or whatever If the carrage moves it seems to try and print. Have used different heads and cables same result. anyone heard of this? Thanks Doug

Perf Tint on the glass helps, but washout is a common problem for perf on interior windows, no matter what the perf/hole size. most of the time the room lighting is almost equal. I just installed around 400 feet of perf in a dealership but they were aware of the ambient light requirements...

Completely agree most solvent printers will do the trick but unless your printing alot you may wish to just contract the printing out.

Couple of things to check. first the band cable going to the print head is seated correctly those little @% can be a pain. just one of the thin ribbon contacts off and that will cause the fuse to pop. swap heads and see if the problem follows it. If so head is probably shorted. Good Luck.

Sound alot like a slider board, if ink is going through to the waste bottle look at electrical its obviously drawing ink just not firing

prob head board fuse If the cable is not perfect, you probably popped a head board fuse. Make sure all power is of both primary and secondary before touching print head ribbons.
