  5. Just got a new printer! What the heck is it?

Hi everyone, I just inherited an HP DesignJet 450C; model C4716A, from a relative that used it to print blue prints. All I know about it is that it's ~36" wide and it is a CMYK roll-fed printer. Does anyone know about this older model HP? I'm not even sure what type of ink it uses! Hoping to...

  8. Epson DX5 printhead bottom plate

Any body have an extra, maybe from an old damaged print head? I'm looking to buy one, but Mimaki would rather we pay for an entire print head instead of a little metal clip. I need one for a JV33. Could run without it, but one headstrike and the head is dead for good. Also, without it there may...
  9. Storing a cleaned print head

We had a head strike on a JV33 and replaced the head. The only obvious issue is that the silver retaining ring that holds the membrane to the carriage is a little bent. It keeps the cap top from getting a good seal and nozzles keep clogging. The head is soaking in wash fluid, and I'm confident...

Does anyone know where to find a thread about solvent printing on fabric using a Mimaki JV33 with SS21 inks or a Seiko M with Seiko's solvent ink? I'm having a hard time finding a thread this specific. I'm wondering if its because most printers use dye-sub? Thanks, MikeD
  14. Getting rid of 30" JV3 and CG75-fx

Hi, I'm trying to find a fair market value price for a 30" JV3 and accompanying CG75-FX plotter. Both are in good shape. The printer has been in storage (prepped by a tech) and the plotter works. We have them in storage, but want the space back. The office next door is interested in buying...
  15. Metallic ink

Has anyone run Mimaki's solvent metallic ink lately through a JV33? I had a print sample from Mimaki when they first offered it, but the silver just rubbed off with lite thumb pressure. I heard they have made improvements. Thanks, Miked

  17. out gassing solvent prints

Is there any way to gauge where a print is at in regard to out gassing all of the solvent in a print? Some kind of digital meter? 24+ hrs is recommended, but I imagine that a light yellow print would have less solvent to deal with than a print with lots of heavy dark inks. Are there any tricks...
