Roland SC-545-EX We've had this machine for about 4 years now, worked flawlessly until February of this year. Machine started giving us trouble and we attempted to fix it with no luck.. Ended up buying a new one. Machine still prints as is, well enough that I still do jobs with it but it has to...
  2. SC-545EX Problems - Help Please!

Anyone else have recommendations on where to start on trying to solve the ink starvation issue? 10 of the 12 cartridges were close to empty so I went ahead and replaced them all, now the machine has 12 fresh cartridges. Not sure what all I should start checking; pumps, lines, etc.
  3. SC-545EX Problems - Help Please!

I've soaked it over night twice now, didn't help the print one bit :banghead: I've cleaned the encoder strip and replaced the sensor. I've checked this with a syringe, and it seems like it's aligned correctly. Thank You!! I actually tried printing at 500mm/s and it got better but still not...
  4. SC-545EX Problems - Help Please!

Noticed something new yesterday.. if i move the head all the way over to the end of the paper(base point 12" or so from end) the test print comes out almost perfect. if i start in the middle it's better than the ones I've posted but not as good as if I start all the way on the left side. So...

  7. SC-545EX Problems - Help Please!

Still no luck with the machine. Friday made two weeks without being able to print anything :banghead: I found a new XC-540 in stock locally that they're offering a nice discount on, but I'm waiting till Tuesday for another quote from the guy I usually deal with.. Will more than likely go with...

Wipers were indeed changed too. I let the heads soak for about two hours and the test print still looks the same. How could I go about testing the pumps?
  9. SC-545EX Problems - Help Please!

Well, new head board didn't change anything. So now he's looking at the main board. I'm working on doing a head soak now
  10. SC-545EX Problems - Help Please!

My tech knows a guy with a good headboard out of the same machine, so he's going to bring that by today and see if it changes anything before I order a new one. If that doesn't fix the problem I'll have him do a head soak / teach me how for next time. I'll ask him about having air in the lines...
  11. SC-545EX Problems - Help Please!

As said I've never had to do a head soak before, should I follow these steps? http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?p=654826 If so, how do I get the heads to move over.. Just manually move them or what?
  12. SC-545EX Problems - Help Please!

Here's the print when I tried to do a feed calibration..
  13. SC-545EX Problems - Help Please!

He's changing electrical components because he believes it's a electrical problem since the first pass of the test print looks good and the second pass is bad. I have not checked the feed calibration, nor do I know how exactly to do a head soak. I'll look through the manual and search online to...
