Are you laminating it? Or are they and you're not ?
Usually for phones and stuff people use 40c or 180. It's not ij35 as that's a different backer.... To me it looks like 40c, or 180cv3.
I use the 45s for normal kiss cutting, and for perf cutting I use 60 (The pointiest one) - Some suppliers call the pointiest one 30... some 60... Cant tell by those photos which are which, since they all look the same. I pretty much throw away the flat / 30 degree one... I'd buy from Ebay...
We use the bit like Jburton posted.
We also use a routing table though... not by hand. You can stack 5-6 alupanel pieces together and do them all at once, its much faster than a corner rounder - Which we have and sometimes use for 1 offs... but when we're doing 100 12x18s, the router is way...
As bad as it sounds...you have to learn how to manipulate your customer. In the end, you give them what you want... but They arent the professional here.
Ask him to spend the day looking at other peoples vehicles - See if he can find one that has as much information on it as his does... And in...
Can you imaging printing direct to wall and someone bumps it, or power goes off, or 1 of any other problems....
How do you pick up where you left off? How do you cover the wall and start again? It just doesn't seem worth it.... And all the ones I've see are slow. Plus I'm sure it smells bad...
We dont use perf cut as it'll almost always leave rough edges.
Use regular cut line... and dial in your settings so its just barelly cutting though.
- this one doesnt show them popping out... but shows a kiss cut over the channel, then perf cut over the channel after... just showing how...
The pressure isn't as "Consistant", So if you're cutting something with a lot of small intricate cuts... like tiny text, there can be some spots that didnt cut all the way through. For stickers and anything over 2" it's usually fine though... give it a try! You can set it so the graphtec goes...
He kiss cuts over the channel, so it doesn't affect his cutting strip at all.
It's common and we do it as well unless.it has really sharp angled cuts.... For everything else it works perfectly
40C is our goto as well. You could use 35C.. but it'll rip some paint off when you remove it!
We use some Nekoosa Wall vinyl for walls, it's a bit cheaper... but we only bring it in on big projects as we have dozens of rolls of IJ40 on hand, so no point in stocking another product unless we...
Glad to see lots of people mention the 5070.... Seems like people are slow to adopt it!
Anyway.... Nothing wrong with Calander on a wall. There's 2 types of Calander, monomeric and polymeric.
Monomeric vinyl is prone to shrinkage - it can still be used indoors... But if you use it outdoors...
Yellotools makes a really nice tool that allows you to cut 1/8 of an inch and a perfectly straight line on Windows.. we used to do it by hand, tool paid for itself in one job.
We also switched to using the liquid sealant, we still carry around a roll of tape, but the liquid goes on fast and...
If your Current CNC guy is retiring, why not talk to him about buying the equipment? Pay him a consult fee to show you how to use it as well.
Running a CNC, especially if you're doing 3d work in wood, isn't the easiest thing. And no matter how good of a dust collector you have, there will be...
Our blues are always on the darker side using the built in spectro.... Profiling our own media they come out way better. But with using the profile the printer generates...royal blue is almost a black, lighter blues turn purple... Greys are "ok" but theyre a big mix of CMYK so they suck under...
Cutting master 4 is no longer supported / maintained software - sai no longer produced it, and graphtec is producing cm5... Which is why cm5 is so different than cm4.
Cm4 should work assuming it works with the version of illustrator you're using .. we use cm4 at work with the latest version fine.
I bought a pack of 100 golf tees and I usually throw them in the honeycomb, it raises it off the bed by about a quarter inch. Not bad for bigger parts... but I have 300 2"x6" Acyrlics to cut, and I'm not putting 500 golf tees in. I'll cut a sheet of quarter inch out and give it a test - As long...
Hmm.. never thought of acrylic honeycomb.
What thickness is it / where do you buy it from? How long does it last?
I do a ton of acrylic these days and I cover the table with wypall and spray it with water... It works but is a pain, having an acrylic honeycomb I can just drop on-top of my...
Are you using a honeycomb table?
That's called flashback. You can raise the acrylic off the metal so the beam doesn't hit it and bounce back, or put a wet cloth under the acrylic to minimize / stop the flashback as well.
You shouldn't have to go too slow. We print banner on 4 pass and it dries fine.. id try turning off all heaters but the last one, and using regular speed.
We just printed 4 rolls of smooth banner, not one curl or defect... You can nail down a fast good profile, you just have to play with it.
