  1. Budget Inks for Roland?

A good point to consider. Ours runs all day, everyday, so we have not had that issue, thankfully.
  2. Budget Inks for Roland?

Haven't heard of them but we run Nazdar 202 series in our Roland XR-640 and love 'em. All you gotta do is switch out the old cartridges as they empty out, and they print amazing. Considerably cheaper than the Roland inks as well.
  3. News Something we haven't talked about in a while............

Nice one Gino! Wishing you a blessed new year.
  4. Dome Labels

Seems like your best bet is to go with the company you linked to. Looks like some of their products are made here in USA as well.
  5. Need Help Odd Question.......................................

Love the fact that there are so many font geeks and otherwise helpful people here.
  6. Still doing some stuff 'Old School'

Really beautiful work! Has good flow and a nice color pallet. Only thing I could critique on is the drop shadows on "Wrecking"... With that wave in the text, it seems like the drop shadow should be on the Left side of the letters but just my two cents :D
  7. What determines where VersWorks starts cutting?

Will this work in Illustrator CC?
  8. Eggshell vinyl for sticker/decal printing 54" roll

Miss me some Armour Etch ! Probably one of those most dangerous chemical to hold in your hand, but highly effective.
  9. Eggshell vinyl for sticker/decal printing 54" roll

That works too, but the eggshell effect (when the material breaks into tiny pieces as you try to remove it) is the major selling point with this material.
  10. Eggshell vinyl for sticker/decal printing 54" roll

Graff kids are Graffiti writers and "slaps" are stickers. Eggshell material is preferred because as you can see, it's a nightmare to try and remove and is mostly solvent resistant...
  11. Eggshell vinyl for sticker/decal printing 54" roll

Yes, "Graff" kids love making "slaps" with that stuff. We get hit up for that material as well and just as you've found, it's only available in China. I've inquired once with a vendor about why the best materials are only available in Asia and supposedly, it's because the chemicals used in the...
  12. Got to thinking................................

So cool, and THANK YOU for your service!
  13. Slow day...what do you do?

Look for entertaining posts by Gino on Signs101.com ....... :D
  14. Matt Finish After Printing

The differences between the glossiness of the stock ink and the matte finish of the Nazdar inks are pretty dramatic but not easily shown in photos unfortunately. As of now, after using the inks for a couple months, we are super satisfied with them, and no issues as of yet.
  15. Matt Finish After Printing

CJ1, We have similar taste in finishes! We have been trying to get a better matte finish to our banners and canvas prints and found that the new Nazdar inks (for Roland printers) work great for this. The inks have a really rich color, and we've noticed after using them that we get better color...
  16. Question Double Sided decals?

We do printed slit-backs on our Roland. It's a bit of a process- Feeding the vinyl through the printer with the back side face up, we apply a repeating pattern and then kiss cut the backing. Once the sheets are feed back through and printed and perf cut as normal, you now have a finished decal...
  17. Suggestions Newsprint media

Just grab a pad of newsprint from your local art supply store. They come is sizes like 18"x24" and 24"x36". I would recommend getting the 24"x36", pull out a few loose sheets and run them through your printer as single sheets. Having printed on newsprint with a Roland (EcolSol inks), I can tell...
  18. Clear vinyl to print? for motocross decals

General Formulations has a great 6mil Clear that is perfect for decals and large labels. We use it frequently for product labels and auto decals. Just a word of warning though- you will need to play with your ink density and colors as the print will be semi-transparent on the clear.
  19. Need Help Contour Cut over multiple panels

Have you tried dividing up the art into the desired panels in Illustrator? Then you can simply print and cut each panel as it's own job, and would likely help cut down on waste material.
