what are the advantages of running lc, lm in solvent printers vs dual cmyk, I have always printed with cmyk and now I have an option to go with lc and lm. are pms colors, grays and magentas any better?

so i got an old sc-540 printer and it did not come with any software at all, so I got it working with flexi 10, I can print and cut at the same time, but when I want to print, laminate then cut the printer doesn't look for the crop marks at all it goes straight to cutting and of course it cuts...
