Hey everyone!
While my machine is printing fine, every so often it sounds a bit funny. The normal zwoop zwoop sound it makes when the carriage moves back and forth lowers in pitch for a few rounds before it goes back to normal.
Wondering if that is a sign the rods need to be cleaned/ oiled...
Apologies for bringing this thread back from the grave, but any tips on printing on this material? I usually don't use plastic liners and am worried about it "shrinky dinking" on the print bed. Is this a material you advise taping up first? Or do you have a preferred starting temp or interpass...
I think you're right. After taking a second look at the Optimizer section on my test- it's not showing any cross marks at all. I compared it to one I ran a few weeks ago and at least there I can see faint marks.
I'm still learning how to read these tests for this machine. Welp- sure hope they...
I come humbly to my fellow print people asking what the heck? And hopefully for some answers.
In the last couple weeks or so, I was beginning to see some coalescence in light colors along with bleeding that came and went in dark areas. This was a big job for my HP700W- I think I printed 42...
Posting this just in case anyone has to print on this damned material in the future.
After the company sent me a couple sample rolls to test, and a super awesome fellow sign maker popping into my DMs with some recommended start settings- I got a great print. So without futher ado-
Printer - HP...
I didn't even think about that. This is why you guys are great! I'll do a plot test. You may be right about the vinyl lifting on curves. It seemed to improve earlier when I slowed it down which would make sense.
Thank you! Let me try all this. Do you have any advice on cleaning grit rollers? Those lil buggers raze down every rag I try on it. A stiff brush??
I ordered some blades, will readjust the next to be further into the carriage, slow her down, and if all else fails will try getting a replacement...
Hoping the hive mind can help me out with a persistent but annoying plotter issue. For the last week or so (that I've noticed) - my HP Latex 64 Plotter has been giving me the wonkiest O's C's and S's you've ever seen. The straight cuts seem fine, and I have already tried cleaning the blade...
Neither would I these days. But I was a graphic design grad, fresh out of college, forced to take a -barely relevant- gig at the office depot print center. Wasn't even the print supervisor yet - so I give young past me a pass for this one. I remember the customer being very insistent those were...
Our shop uses the 3M Controltac 40C-10R as a staple for white - I think there is a matte version, 20R perhaps? Just make sure it's suitable for your printer. I have a Latex printer. I'm still trying to find a good clear myself.
I wish I could say the same, but as someone with a background in GRDS I had many a peer use the text feature in Photoshop (or a free equivalent) and think that was good. They design it at "high resolution" and think that's good enough. Lots of digital illustrator friends taking up side work of...
I dunno, I'd be more willing to bet you found a "self taught graphic designer" who either made it in photoshop, or got it on fivver and is lying to their client. If they are that reluctant to at least provide an EPS - they probably don't have one.
This was an 18x24 yard sign from years ago... the customer was happy with it...... bruh. (I was back at office depot then - I did not have the pride nor tenacity to argue more than "are you sure this is good to print?" in a very disappointed tone)
Thank you! I still feel like I need to reduce temps and up the passes because it was curling BADLY coming off the machine (and it's a small self roll on my table a day later) but I think the tension bar may help with a lot of the sticking at least. Just frustrating no one will/ can give me what...
Naw, I'm a graphic designer who now works in sign making, and if he supplied a file not suitable for print - that's 100 percent not the printer's issue. When getting graphics designed you should go to someone who has experience with that type of design work for the needed application. Just had a...
Good morning everyone,
We ordered this new material for a project (Courtwrap), and it says it's Latex compatible, but there is absolutely no information on profiles, starting temps, pass number or anything. I was hoping someone on here either had experience with this material or similar.
It's...
