  1. Question UJF-6042 White Ink circulation settings & timer How do I turn it off or adjust settings ?

Couldn't find a setting on mine, or anything in the service manual about disabling it. I am curious about the direct line ink system you have though - got any photos of it?
  2. Can you disable a print head (UJF-6042 MkII)?

Just did this on a 6042 MKi. Changed the inkset option to disable the Clear/Primer. It will flush the lines then save that there is nothing there. Someone with a MKii will be able to 100% confirm the procedure is the same on that model.
  3. UJF6042 sudden loss of White White head and channel, but test prints fine

Fixed it! Ended up changing the inkset to be just MCYB---- in effect removing Head 3 Clear/Primer and Head 4 White/White. To remove a head like that from the inkset it needed 2 cleaning cartridges. And it burned through 2 full 220ml ones just to disable those heads! Then, I readded The...
  4. UJF6042 sudden loss of White White head and channel, but test prints fine

FEEDEVAL worked in service mode and printed from both White channels ok. None of the others seems to print.
  5. UJF6042 sudden loss of White White head and channel, but test prints fine

Very interesting idea. Do you know off the top of you head if any of the service mode Check Patterns do not use the variable dot function? My copy of the service manual says these are available, I've been doing 100% and V-LINE. Will have to try all. 100% 50% 25% 6.25% NOZZLE V-LINE H-LINE SLANT...
  6. UJF6042 sudden loss of White White head and channel, but test prints fine

RasterLink yes 5.16 which has been surprisingly bulletproof once set up. Currently thinking I may just swap this head out. But will first remove it from the printers inkset config and just run as CMYK then reintroduce it as into the inkset.
  7. UJF6042 sudden loss of White White head and channel, but test prints fine

Ok found a problem! Test printing right from the printer still works. But any of the service mode "Check Pattern" prints do not work on White/White. All other colors work - but as soon as either White channel is selected to go, the head moves and UV lamp goes on - but no ink. So it's like it...
  8. UJF6042 sudden loss of White White head and channel, but test prints fine

Deflate on channels 7/8 White/White went fine. Good draw of ink, no bubbles.
  9. UJF6042 sudden loss of White White head and channel, but test prints fine

I'll deflate it tomorrow, have the tool. Reset the clock and got all the chips working so it's not that error now. Test print is still showing White/White running fine - will let you know how it goes.
  10. UJF6042 sudden loss of White White head and channel, but test prints fine

When I run a job in rasterlink I can isolate just the White/White special layer and send that as a test only. Avoiding sending any other colors. Printer receives the data fine and runs the whole job, just nothing comes out.
  11. UJF6042 sudden loss of White White head and channel, but test prints fine

I am totally stumped. 6042 mki has been printing fine until today. Both White channels on head 4 won't print, previous job ran fine so it wasn't like a mechanical issue. * Test print works great and both White channels test print * White maintenance function draws a vacuum and emptied ink...
  12. spill removal

Could you just replace the window? It's just clear acrylic.
  13. Clear and Primer channel clogs on UJF-3042 UJF-6042

Which machine, the MKii series? Don't suppose there's a way to tell unless you crack open the head. I wonder if the delamanation is like this which wouldn't show up on the outside.
  14. Clear and Primer channel clogs on UJF-3042 UJF-6042

Sounds like the consensus is the Primer PR-100 and PR-200 are the culprit just due to the nature of primer. Not so much a clog as a busted head. And the Clear channel fails alongside it because of the damage. Doesn't sound like it's worth it to pull a standard "clogged" Clear/Primer head for...
  15. Clear and Primer channel clogs on UJF-3042 UJF-6042

Makes the most sense that the primer is the culprit, it's MSDS chemicals are different. If I had a spare machine I would set up a Clear/Clear head to test and just keep manually priming materials.
  16. Clear and Primer channel clogs on UJF-3042 UJF-6042

Lots of talk about how the clear/primer heads on the 6042/3042 MKi and Mkii always end up clogged. What is the exact reason - is it something in the the clear ink or primer specifically? Or just that most users don't print these channels frequently which leads to clogs? Looking at the MSDS...
  17. UJF-6042 MKII & MK1 Projects & Rebuild, Hacking, Etc.

This was a real problem for me ended up changing the UV lamps. Originally was very fast, and printing with Rasterlink only needed 6 passes @ 100% UV illuminance. Then after 6 months it suddenly stopped working and I couldn't get adhesion on the white ink. After checking & doing everything else -...
  18. UJF-6042 MKII & MK1 Projects & Rebuild, Hacking, Etc.

Wanted to add some of my notes about the UJF-6042 I learned from fixing one up: * The 3042 and 6042 seem to be the same internally, the daughterboard/sliderboard in the 6042 says 3042 on it even though it has 4 head ribbon connects. I guess the motherboard has a ROM or firmware that sets the...
  19. 6042 changing ink sets to LH-100 from LF-140

Thanks for the reply. Should have been more clear - this is on a 6042 MKi original version with the Gen 4 heads, not the MKii with Toshiba heads. Besides using cartridges of flushing liquid rather than bottles would anything change?
  20. 6042 changing ink sets to LH-100 from LF-140

Currently using LF-140 ink but it is discontinued so it's getting hard to find stock. I was told by one tech that changing to LH-100 from LF-140 would likely damage the heads because they are "so old." Even if they were properly flushed. The printer has given me no problems so it seems like a...
