Attaching two pieces of Gatorfoam

Any advise on the best (strongest) method to do this?
I have a .5" 43 x 20 oval going on top of a 1" 48" x 25" Oval creating a 3d eclipse type look.
One on top of the other and it will hang from a decorative chain.

Should I use...
Double stick tape (if so, recommendations please)
Some type of glue
Use some type of plastic bolt/nut (not sure that would work I do not want it visible at all)

As far as the glue or tape go, I am worried about it pulling away from the top paper layer.

3M makes a great tape for this UHB, but I don't normally order it so I can't remember the number.

How long will it be up for?
Will it be over peoples heads?

I would take extra precaution and screw the 2 pieces together and also make small patches where the image is for the screws.

Definitely over peoples heads and a long time.
So just like black drywall screws?

I'd say screw and cap in four places along with strong adhesive.

I would try any decent double sided tape with some carpenters glue.
Put a couple sample pieces together today and see if you can pull them apart on Monday.
