Base material assistance

Afternoon all;

I have a chance to bid on team yard signs for one of my booster clubs. In the past we've always used corrugated plastic for our team signs. However, this club wants to have a heavier duty plastic or poly base instead of corrugated plastic.

This club used to have a business make wood based (MDF maybe?) signs but that company went out of business and they want something as heavy duty but not warpable, and for some reason - not metal.

I've looked at a few suppliers I have catalogs for and they only offer corrugated or aluminum.

Any suggestions?

Your going to have to introduce yourself to these guys probably before they start feeding you information. Its a tough crowd but once they know you there the best out there. So hello from California!!

Intros

Sorry I haven't introduced myself before, I've been a member for a while but this is the first time I've needed to post. I'm in a small town north of the big D.

I started in embroidery, added screen print, started with a few in-house designed banners that have been contract printed; then also done some vinyl banners and team signs as well. Most of the customers are sports related. Nothing fancy, but adds to the overall one stop contact aspect for our area.

Here's a small bit of things I've done:

Grew up not too far from that area in a not so small town NE of Big D called Plano.

Teams will keep you busy with stuff especially for an apparel shop. They can be a pain, but I still like getting them in.

Have you been back to that "small" town called Plano? Bit bigger now. Thanks for the reminder of the intro - I'm going to do that in the main forum.

Oh yea. I try to get back 3 or 4 times a year. I hardly remember when it was a small town. It boomed while I was growing up, so I really only knew it as a big town.

greetings from wisconsin!
sometimes a quick email to your supplier can solve your problems in a flash! Same guy that can get you corrugated plastic, can get you the economical rigid boards you're talkin' about. There's either aluminum-laminated plastic or plastic-laminated foam, or just plastic!
