Best Two Sided Tape

I have a customer basically needing to stick some pieces of alumalite together. They will be outdoors, and he wants to do it with double stick tape. I've never really ordered any for anything other than banners. Anyone have a "go to" double sided tape that has held up well. Preferably something from Advantage or Fellers since that's where I order most of my stuff.

Have you ever tried VHB tape. Fellers has it and if not watch a video on youtube. It is remarkable what they do with it. It is not cheap but you might not need to cover as much of an area to make things stick. It may be overkill.

Would you recomend the top one, or the one below it?

Unless you have two perfectly smooth surfaces ... use the VHB foam tape.

It will compensate for any irregularities.

3M VHB Foam Tape it is. I'm excited to use the stuff.

Ahh............ such a sheltered life we live, when using some double-sided foam tape brightens up and becomes the highlight of our day............

Have fun........ :thumb:

I'm just excited to see what I can stick to what...when two things exist in the universe...they'll eventually be stuck together. I want to be the guy that does that and people say "who was the first guy who stuck those together?" Kinda like the first guy to drink from a cow...only not as gross possibilities exist.

I have heard of the VHB I believe...never used it though. This isn't going to be under much strain...but the more hold power, the better it is...

Would this be what you were referring to?

That was one of them. I could not believe they used this stuff on skyscrapers to install pannels.

I have the 4941 but I think the 4910 would be pleanty.

I used some on an old cars moulding trim that had pulled away and curving out like a letter C. Didn't think it would do much with all the rust and crud that was stuck under the moulding. Cleaned as best as possible and it stuck. The cars value doubled with the VHB tape installed...... the car is no longer in service........ what a waste of good VHB tape....

++++3M VHB, only bad thing is I installed a panel over a sign with it once, couple years later they wanted to change it. Well I couldn't get it off so ended up letting it on site...

He's basically wanting to splice two boards together with this. Then he's going to screw it to the wall I believe. Whole sign should come down as one piece, he just wanted an easy way to put the seams together.
