Boat vinyl wrap repair

Can anyone share processes regarding patching wrap vinyl on aluminum boats? 3M 2080 White base. Minor dings and scratches that lead to more damage/peeling. We've tried cutting out the damage and using 3M primer prior to placing a patch but the repairs tend to fail.

Replace the whole wrap. To use the phrase back to the customer when they tell you the wrap should be cheap, "It's just stickers"

The vinyl will need to be stripped and replaced. Patches are bandaids, and bandaids are temporary and they will fail.

Rewrap would look the best but you could try your primered patches and then cut a rounded edged larger patch in lam or stoneguard to give it some more time...
If the dings/scratches are generally in the same high traffic areas you could upsell them on extra stoneguard panel ad-ons to protect those areas during the initial wrap phase...
They would likely get most of those dings and scratches on raw gelcoat as well...

There is multiple factors here to start with, my guess is that there is oxidation on the surface and is the vinyl getting in the water for a long period of time, on top of that you wanna seal the edges with the seal pen and then apply the clear 1/4" tape, do not poke any bubbles out on your vinyl either

Up sell! These bandaids will only last if you add another layer of PPF. That's only like twice what the wrap costs, yeah?

Kev, who did the original wrap? Was it applied after the boat was purchased or from the factory?
PHOTOS are always a good way to get accurate responses.
