Do you have a dog in your shop?

OK, maybe a sign shop is not the best place for a pet, but bottom line is, my dog is around here a lot.
My question is, I am the only one?
If not, any recommendations for making sure my prints are totally free of dog hair?
I sweep, use a fabric softner to go over the print before it is laminated and I search all over and still seem to end up with a few. Is there something better I can use?

So...besides telling me to not let him around, does anyone else have a pet that has a better way (cleaning method, etc...) of making sure prints are free of hair?

I am thinking most of you would say, no way the dog should be around, yet I know am am not the only one with a pet in the shop.

Any helpful (stressing helpful) suggestions?
THANKS!

Oh, and maybe anyone can answer this...if you do end up with something in the print AFTER it is laminated (a bug, hair, etc...) is there anything you can do to remove it? If not do you reprint or do you try to pass it off? I was thinking I could cut a very small slit and remove it?
Thanks again.

My dog comes to work with me every day, I wouldn't have it any other way. Luckily he doesn't shed much (American Cocker Spaniel)

My dog comes to work with me every day. Customers love him. I left him home once with my wife, and he literally screamed at the door all day.

He's a big dog too, about 90 lbs half boxer half pitbul

Home based so the hound is around. Some of our clients look forward to seeing her. Of course you realize you have now re-opened the flood gates for what I think are doggie haters. Topic was covered not long ago and I thought some responses were uncalled for. Just wanted you to know that.

We have two dogs at our offices every day. We don't print here since we sell the equipment so the shedding isn't an issue for us.

We are pet and dust-friendly. It makes it hard to get prints free of hair or dust. To help keep it in check we use the same techniques you describe with the addition of an industrial air filter originally intended for saw dust. I've tried surgically removing hairs, bugs and dust from laminated prints, but it's never worked for me. I usually trim those parts off and tack them to the wall to remind operators to check for dust and try to keep clean.

The benefits of pets being around outweighs the problems IMO

Well thanks for the comments, I am glad I am not alone, BUT, any suggestions to the issues I mentioned?
Thanks.

And as for the haters...let them hate, it is my good will towards man to give them something to feel important about, lol.

You could always put a branded work shirt on him to keep the fur under control...

Always a dog at the shop but all dobermans so hair isn't a real issue. What does fall is short, coarse and heavy. Not very prone to flying around. The real problem is keeping MY hair out of the prints!

My shop is downstairs from where i live, so my dog (my daughter's dog) and cat (fiance's cat) are in the shop often. They usually stay in the office area and not around production room, so fur isn't really and issue on my prints. I have a roomba (robot vacuum) in the office that i run every few days.
If a customer shows up I do take the animals out of the office.

Pics below.

I bring my Pitbull to work with me everyday. The only pain is having to take her out to the bathroom 2-3 times a day as she takes her sweet time. My customers love her too!

We have a Persian cat here, fortunately she doesn't shed too bad and we try to keep her in the office space and out of production as much as possible. We actually find more human hairs ruining jobs than cat hairs so I guess we're lucky. We have a bunch of swiffer-type dusters around that we religiously wipe on all prints and substrates while laminating or mounting, and that helps tremendously.

If your customer is THAT close to the sign you just made them, tell them your signs are for looking at, not smelling.

At a sign/screen printing shop i used to work at not long ago, employees would bring in their dogs all the time. I brought my dog in once. A girl that did the embroidery digitizing brought her dog in often. and one of the owners would bring one or both his labs into work sometimes (his office was covered in fur).
