Epoxy Resin OVER Latex

Got a question for the group - customer wants a latex printed decal mounted to ACM for a table top (ACM mounted onto plywood) then wants to cover this in 2 part epoxy resin (like the river tables, etc). Total pour will only be about 1/8" thick. Has anyone ever tried this and does media hold up, or....?

I used to print decals for a guy who would apply them to his garage floor, then epoxy overtop of them. We always used a high tac vinyl just so it doesn't lift up while the epoxy is curing - I dont know how long it lasts... but he had a few that were years old and it was fine. I imagine it'll last just as long as if it were put behind glass

I have recently completed a project of about 20ish tables that were epoxy poured, then a print added and then another clear pour over the top. Used regular vinyl bu eco-solvent printed. Not sure how that would make any difference once the inks are cured. I did have 2 tiny instances of fine points wanting to lift up, so be careful to make sure everything is adhered well, otherwise I don't think you'll have any issues.

Just make sure it adheres well, as any shrinkage during curing will try and peel it off

We did a bunch of tables. Eco-Sol printed and laminated. We let them outgas 3 days before lamination, applied to tables and then the epoxy guy poured them after 24 hours. No problems at all. Just be sure to thoroughly clean and degrease restaurant tables!

I'm not sure about the much larger pours - but I print stuff on the HP700W that my wife uses in resin jewelry... both UV and and regular resins... she has never had an issue with delamination from a graphic. I think it sticks to the latex just fine. A bonus is that you will not have to let it cure/off-gas like the solvent guys do.... (but even then it is no big deal, just plan on some passive time to off-gas while doing other things.)
