Man who touches printers inappropriately.
Ended up with an S60600 in my shop and I am looking it over. Head cables are damaged and getting the wonderful 1A39 error code, so either bad contact or blown head. Regardless cable ends are hosed. Done a lot of work on the old TFP head Stylus Pro series and used to seeing cable assemblies that connect to a junction and are only like 6" long. Tracing the cable back on this, it appears to be one long AF ribbon cable from the heads to the main stationary control board. Are these cables even available? I have a nice high loading bay, am I better off just rolling it down into the parking lot and smiling with glee as the thing smashes to bits?
For $2000+ heads, can we agree that ribbon cables are moronic? We have so many wonderful electrical connectors these days to choose from.
