File Import Problems

I am having problems opening .png files in Flexi. When they are opened in Photoshop or Corel they have the Transparent background. But when opened/imported into Flexi they still look like the original uncut photo.

Converting it to an .eps, psd, gif, or jpg does not work either.

I have Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel, and Gimp and Jasc Paint Shop Pro to work with.

Specifically what I am doing is cutting out a Sharp's Shiloh rifle for a sportsman's club to be printed, and photorealism is key.

Any Ideas? :help

Thanks

Will you be printing this file? What version/level of Flexi? mac or PC?

I would recommend importing into Illustrator and creating a clipping path to trace the edges of the rifle. Then export as EPS and import that into Flexi.

Then you can "Mask" the image which will use the clipping path as a cut out and hide everything outside of that path. Then you can apply a contour cut if needed.

Flexi does not handle alpha channel/transparency well. However, you can create the transparency in flexi under the bitmap menu with the magic wand.

though masking's probably better as ciber suggested
