Flexi blue screen crash

I use flexi 8.6v2 software and just had an intersting thing happen.

I just installed a Canon IPF700 printer.

Using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit computer system with 16 gig of memory.

Using the drivers I downloaded from Canon (works fine with Adobe).

As I tried to print from flexi the system did the blue screen of death crash!!!

This is the first crash like this I have seen from this system. It does it every time I try to print to this printer...

Anybody else have this happen?

Any ideas?

Thanks

It is.... 8.6v2 been running on x64 Windows 7 for a long time now with no problems.

No idea what might be causing Flexi to crash on that printer though. Only thing I can think is Flexi is doing something funky to the drivers when it tries to print. I'd first try deleting that setup and re-adding it in Production Manager making sure its looking to the right port. Next think I'd try might be to see if maybe there is an older driver from Canon and downgrade the driver. Maybe some new driver feature that freaks Flexi out. Not really sure though.

dont know if 8.6 is compat. with win7

Any and all blue screens will include file information and point to specific DLL files, or similar, that threw the exception.

Usually Blue Screens are caused by driver issues or corrupted DLL files.

It is possible that the canon driver installation wrote to a common DLL file that FLexi is not unable to work with... You might try uninstalling Flexi and reinstalling into a clean directory.
