Arial Sucks.
I guess it's a gusty choice? My first impression of the "F!" icon thing was someone shouting the F-bomb at the top of their lungs. Adding the "rence" part just sounds like someone is really mad at someone named "Rence."

Not sure about the logo, I wonder how it will age over time. Seems like it would look dated fairly quickly (if not already).

I dont like it, for a city logo it is stupid and will be dated quickly. And yes I do agree they prolly paid 6 figures for it

Interesting that it's basically a ripoff of the logo for the website hosting that story. Was it the same designer for both, who only has one trick?

.....nothing new here.....the clueless, leading the blind, with waaaaay too much budget approval authority!
around here, we have a graphic 'design' firm that just uses a red dot. For EVERYTHING! Morgue. Radio Station. Community College.....doesn't matter, does it? The real test? .... If it takes a 1:30 video to explain it, then it's failed.
