How do you tell what the Head Rank is if the Plastic tab is gone??

This is on a Falcon II and I have a new head in the box without the plastic tab that tells the head rank (It came with the used printer ) I have the serial number and all the numbers on the box but they are not enough numbers to set the rank. Is there another way, or am I screwed?

Richard, don't know if this will help, but I'll throw it out there. On the Mutoh FOJ printheads, the head rank is handwritten on one side of the printhead. It can be hard to read unless you are in good light. I have read that it shows up better under a black light.

The head I am talking about is different from the one you are talking about (I have some like you are talking about for my Roland and I know about the head rank on the side of these)

It came with a used printer I bought. They lost it somewhere. So I guess I am screwed with this head then.
