IJ35 upgrades

Good day !

We have long used 3M Ij35c for our general signage on both ACM and Corex and have had generally good results. However as of late we have noticed multiple issues which has resulted in warrantied rolls. Its nice to get the rolls warrantied but I think its time for an upgrade. We have also used Ij40 but I can never remember really liked using it. So what is your go to material of choice that would be an upgrade that I should consider?

Thanks

we have been happy with Arlon, we use the 4600 GLX instead of 40c, similar film, 7 year, air egress with a removable adhesive. for 35c, I would check out Arlon 4500. we use the following:

Coroplast and very short term signs - Arlon 510MT
ACM Signs - Either 4600LX or General Formulations 201HTAP

I would love to use Substance however we are in Canada and they lack Canadian distribution and as such the import situation is a bit complicated right now.
I also wish there was a Canadian distributor for substance, ive heard great things, but the shipping and brokerage costs make it a non starter to even consider.

Agreed. Arlon have a great lineup. I used to be a 3M diehard but can no longer justify the cost...

We have had some of the same issues, and do not like the amount of shrinkage ij35/40 has on sign faces.
We are currently trying/testing ij175 for a replacement for an intermediate vinyl solution.

How do 4600LX and 201HTAP compare price-wise? I take it the adhesive isn't aggressive as 201HTAP if it's a removable vinyl?

One of things I love about 201HTAP is that it bites so damn hard that it can't/won't shrink back much or at all on ACM signs.

One more vote here. Substance, if you're listening............set up some Canadian distributors please! (I know I can order direct, but exchange, brokerage and shipping are enough to make me not want to try the stuff)
Even if i tried it and loved it, I wouldn't want to go through all that hassle and expense every time I need to order more stock.

IJ35 has been bad for a few years now. I've compared the air egress channels in the backing to some really old samples of IJ35 that were probably 8 years old and they used to be twice as deep. We've been pairing it with 8508 which has gone from 'semi-cast' to total trash that turns brown in 2 years.
