best practice (IMO) is print on translucent first surface, sign white acrylic, mirror print on clear second surface.

maintains color density day and night.

Translucent vinyl.

This topic has been covered a lot at signs101...you can try searching the archives. Here's a fairly recent thread though...

which vinyl and laminate?

We use Eco Solvent inks so if you are using the same then most manufacturers will have a translucent print vinyl. It's hard to suggest because it depend on what you're willing to pay. We use Trustock vinyl but I think it's exclusive to our supplier Proveer...Trustock only has one option for translucent vinyl.

Oracal 3850SG has worked great for us as well.

Laminate- I like to laminate most things with a "Luster" finish so again we use Trustock mostly but Avery DOL1370 Luster is a good 4 year laminate.
