Working on a branding concept for a client.

We want an vintage look and feel. See attached.

Does anyone still make these?

I know there are vacuum formed sign face manufacturer, but how do I get this look, but new?

Also, does anyone have any nice websites featuring signs from this period. Looking for subtle inspiration.

i know a few sign shops that have the equipment but like always with your posts i have no idea where 'here and there' is so i can't recommend any specific company...i'd find a electrical shop that makes their own pan faces. aging it will be a trial and error deal to get the effect that you are after...one option would be to reuse an old sign face "if" you can find one large enough that there is negative space that has no lettering or graphics so that you can salvage a piece of it...some electrical sign shops have amazing 'bone' yards so this may be an option.

Sorry Dan - I will change that right after I explain.

A few months ago, I had someone lurking on the forum contact an important client of ours. I got a little skeptical of sharing too much information. I was a little caught off guard by the situation and changed my user name and description.

I always admired that about the letterheads forum. I like how they require you to use your real name and photograph.

I really do apologize for your frustration and thank you for taking the time to reply to my post.

we used to call those old signs suitcase signs,..... the salesman would show up and have a sample inside of a piece of luggage made just for the face as a sales sample,...they had a 110 v plug and the sales man would dazzle the client by pluging them in and then making his sales pitch,...often as not the client wanted more than would practically fit on one sign and the salesman would sell them multiple signs that could be hung one above the other,....any plastic sign face manufacturer should be able to make one,....they were often as not made from a yellow piece of plastic with the copy painted on the outside of the face in red and black
