We're getting this error on the control panel screen. Ink is all new. Nothing close to expiration. Have ordered a new bottle of clear to swap out chip and ordered a new chip sensor that will be here tomorrow. Any other suggestions?
You've basically covered it. The chip is either bad or the reader is bad. It's usually the chip. Mimaki won't send a new chip out but you can request your dealer place a warranty order for a replacement. Last time I tried that through, they ghosted me. Your other option is coinkdistributions.com. They sell chips.
I will also go with the chip being faulty. We had the same issue on our 2513. Exact message you are seeing but for Magenta bottle. Swapped chip and back in business.
