This has been a great printer but started having my prints come out a little grainy a few months ago which was about the time Advantage quit carrying Mimaki and servicing them. The machine has never let me down before this and am sure it can still run fine prints for a long time yet if someone has the time to figure it out.
I just put about $700 worth of new parts in it including New Ink Pump, New Capping Station, Encoder Strip, Encoder Sensor Board and the final thing was new dampers which I believe were the issue but after several days of working on it I just couldn't get the new dampers to all fire which before I installed the new ones they all did and the test print was fine. Being a one man show I finally couldn't spend any more time invested in trying to figure it out so I was forced to buy a new printer so I could get back to work. Like I said it ran fine and I know it can again I just don't have enough time or knowledge to do it. After the new printer I have kept the Mimaki in my heated shop with a cover on it plugged in and cycling. I have been manually running cleaning cycles in it so lines don't dry up and still has ink cartridges installed. Has some cosmetic blemished but still a nice machine to refurbish or part out for someone who has the time. Powers up no issues
Take up reel works flawlessly. It does not come with RIP software as I had to trade my Rasterlink in on the new software to get the price break. I am located about 40min. NE of Grand Rapids, MI. Pick Up Only.
$3000 o.b.o.
