Mimaki jv33 display in local mode

Can anyone tell me what this means?
<local.1>!car(#01) is displayed on my printer in the remote mode.

Cart #1 is empty or the chip reader not making contact with chip on cart.

Mine is doing the same thing this morning, have tried re-seating the cartridge, and have tried swapping the 01 and the 02 cartridges. Still says it is the 01 cartridge. Funny thing though, it detects the ink levels even when i swap them, and prints.

Just did a search, and see that three of us with the JV33 have had this same problem in the past 2 weeks. That's odd.

How did you fix it?

mine's always displays that, no matter if the carts are full or empty. always shows that message.

I am running CMYKx2. After I added new cartridges so that all 8 had ink the message stoped. So I guess it is just telling you that you have a cartridge out of ink even if you still have a back up that is full.
