Thank you all for such an amazing platform . With your help I have learned so much and been able to learn a lot and take care of so much ongoing maintenance on my UCJV300.
I thought I had seen posts here on how to convert the ink setup on the UCJV machines, but I cannot find that info while searching now.
I currently have the following setup ; CMYK LcLmWW
I want to convert the machine to use clear : CMYK ClClWW
-I understand many of the steps that I will need to complete to physically flush out the LcLm of old ink. I realize it is recommended to replace a number of ink contaminated parts. In my situation, I print our own in-house designs and have full control over the print appearance. I do not need 100% perfection on the chagesover immediately, and can afford to have some remnants of the LcLm that may take time to clear up fully. With that in mind, I plan to try to reuse the existing ink tank and lines, and attempt to flush and see how well it clears up. If it fails, I can always consider replacement parts later, but want to try my best at draining and flushing the LcLm. first. I plan to use a manual syringe method to drain the bulk of the old intank and lines, followed by flushing them with maintenance fluid. I have a grasp of how to perform the flush to get the bulk of old ink out before loading clear.
--- The part I do not understand at all are things like settings, parameters, etc. so the machine knows it has been converted. I am looking for details about settings I may have to modify at the machine to let it know that the inks have changed, and so raster link also shows it with the new clear inks.
--- I would love your expertise on are the following;
- Does the machine have a built-in procedure for ink changeover that must be used? Will the machine refuse to allow the Clear ink chips to be installed unless a specific sequence of steps has been completed ( ie: and specific set of flush, washes, etc. )
- Basically trying to understand if the machine control panel forces certain cleaning procedures in order to convert, OR are cleaning procedures up to the user based on the quality of the print results I am looking for.
- Does it keep track of what steps have been done to flush and prevent you from switching the inks, or is it a simple matter of inserting new chips and then the machine knows head2 is setup as ClClWW
- Along the same line, will it force all the other ink channels to also be flushed, including WW, and even head1 CMYK?
- What specific parameters have to be modified to let the machine know to use Clear/Clear instead of LcLm?
- When can I nsert the chips from Clear inks into the machine? Will it just accept the clear ink chips at any time, or are the software procedures that must be followed.
Your guidance on each detail I need to complete would be most helpful.
As always, thank you so much and I greatly appreciate all the wonderful help you have provided on this platform!
