Might be a dumb solution. I had this issue before and took us a while to figure out but we sat the printer too far back and was touching the wall. Try to see if there is anything in the way of the printer that may stop it from moving fully back or forward.

thanks!! fixed the problem! apparently the belt under the table was too tight and was causing the error. Loosened it and error is gone!

Could you please answer me for these two questions. First In mimaki printer there are two fuses in power board... Do you know where is the place and what shapes of another fuse in another boards maybe
Secondly :what is the main task of cap top of printhead and when we have to change it (not cap station)

Hi everyone,

I have a Mimaki UJF-3042FX (first model).
Until now everything was fine, without any errors.

One day, when powering on the machine, the display showed: “PLEASE WAIT – SEARCHING ORIGIN”.
The printhead assembly moves normally left and right, and the table moves up and down. Then the head assembly starts moving forward and then backward. At the end, it makes a noise as if it is stuck, and the display shows Error 510: X Current. After that, it also shows Error 403: X Current.

I tried cleaning all sensors and replaced the X-origin timing belt, but the problem still exists.

Some details when the machine is OFF:

  1. The printhead assembly moves left and right manually without any problem.
  2. When trying to move the head assembly manually forward, it does not move (I’m not sure if it is supposed to move forward when the machine is OFF). When the machine is ON, the X motor moves automatically forward and backward until it gets stuck at the end and shows the errors.

I tried entering SERVICE MODE / MAINTENANCE MODE, but it’s impossible because of these errors.

I have attached a video and pictures. If someone has had the same issue and can help me, I would appreciate it.

Man who touches printers inappropriately.
Welcome to the forums, you're more than welcome to start a new thread as this one is over 11-years old. :p

I would check your encoder strip to make sure it hasn't slipped out of the sensor and also check the axis home sensor to make sure it doesn't have gunk in it. Gently wipe down the encoder with a soft cloth as well and make sure it looks clean and undamaged.

X doesn't have an encoder strip. However after a couple of weeks I found a solution. The back stop is very close to the offset position and if the sensor position is out by even 1mm it will crash. I have moved the sensor by 2mm and the machine is happy. Afterwards I may try bending the aluminium finger slightly to achieve the same result. currently I am just happy to have a solution
