I just signed a deal for a new shop, and I'm really looking forward to moving out of the home basement in the middle of a residential area to a brand new locale right in the busiest and most expanding commercial area in the island I live in!
I started my own business about a year and a half ago, and my first big client, a construction company owned by a friend, has just put up a 4000 square feet building. 1/3 is office space and 2/3 is a garage with 25 feet internal height. We have talked for a while about me moving in when the shop was finished. They just took final delivery now over summer, and the shop is about ready for moving in.
I was promised use of the garage whenever I needed, really great as I had no real space at home. Here you can fit a semitrailer or a bus with no problem. It turned out that they also had a spare office, so we agreed on that I could rent the office and part of the garage.
The office is small, but the rent is equally low and will give me an opportunity to see if I can increase business by enough to justify moving out. I have no more space at home than I will have now, but I will have a huge install bay right outside the office, making things much easier in regards to work flow.
Right now all the office space empty, no signs on the building, no lettering on the doors etc. My hands are free to make it nice inside and outside
I took some pics, difficult to get the whole office in one shot on my Galaxy S3 phone, no wideangle lens on this, hehe.. But you can make out the layout. It measures about 3x5m. Installbay is 12x22m or about 2850 square feet. Dual 6m wide doors.
