Trying to print this file for a truck i have to letter right now.

I try and print it from versaworks and the gradient prints crappy, so i go in versaworks and put in the right colors and it comes out with a terrible gradient. Please help!
Otherwise i am going to have to print as a jpeg. But they have semi trailers i have to letter with this same file.

Hi There,
Have you tried printing as a TIFF or PDF?
I guess you have done one or the other but not both.
Give the TIFF a try. Bigger files, but more clarity.

And how's that AWESOME guitar shop in La Crosse?
Have been to the Casino bar. Great little town!

When you created your gradients, how many colors did you use?

Were the colors supplied to you as spot colors?

Looks to me like maybe your gradient uses only one green and white.

Have you tried changing your color profile from RGB to CMYK and vice versa?

I can't tell what program you did the files in or how you created your gradients, so we're all just shooting in the dark.

I prefer converting the file to a bitmap (tiff) and then import a cut line and line them up. never have success with gradients, unless created in Flexi which is my Rip

it was designed in illustrator. I think i got it close to work. I created everything to expand and been messing with the cut line to work. Otherwise i will have to make it a tiff or jpeg and then use my cutline. I have been working on this since 930. :(

I always import into signlab and put the cutline or whatever i need to do. You just design and put cutline in illustrator and export pdf right to versaworks?

Ummm...... yeah. I just did that very thing about 30 seconds ago.

In Illy, the only stuff being "exported" here are file formats needed for routing and the rare file that needs to be saved as a .tif or .jpg to print properly when all else fails. I find that except .tif files which are slower to RIP, .eps' and properly prepped and saved .pdfs provide the most predictable results.

Interesting. I will have to take a look into it. I use signlab for everything. Signlab is so easy for me to use.

We all have our favorites. I've been using Illy since version 3.3 in the early 90's, so its my go to. I like the tools, features and easy integration with Photoshop. Its also VERY stable and predictable when outputting. I have little use for a couple of the wannabes who may have stuck around nearly as long, but have miles to go before being a peer in user friendliness.

We use a Roland VP540 and when doing print/cut jobs, I just find making my cutlines while still in Illy really easy and far more reliable than Corel which the others here using it are constantly having to retry to get them to do the "dancing ants" routine in Versaworks.
