Anyone upgrade to Onyx 25 yet?
We went from 22 to 25 because I wanted horizontal barcodes on our flatbed printer, and it wasnt supported in 22... Makes our workflow suck.
So far I've wasted almost a full roll of wrap media due to glitches - Onyx will only add the cutmarks to the first page in a multi page PDF... Any other page and it wont add them, or even warn you that there isnt a cut mark. Of course we didn't figure that out until we went to cut and half of the cutlines werent there.
E-mailed onyx and got a "We have added you to the ticket for updates, this is a known issue" That was the day after onyx 25 dropped... So July? It's nice that they knew such a huge bug was in it and didn't let anyone know... And anytime I ask for updates, or if they had any eta / plan on a fix... I just get crickets. Glad I paid $1500ish for the upgrade!
We always use multiple page PDFS - A customer will order 10 different labels, hundreds of each...and they'll be in 1 PDF With multiple artboards, it keeps the file system clean. I've probably forgot 5 times now that it doesnt work and wasted material... ontop of the full roll of vehicle graphics.
So far thats the only major glitch I've noticed. Well, I've found if I put horizontal barcodes on both sides of a flatbed the print will fail.... Or if I just put it on the right side it'll fail... If I only do the left it's fine. Not sure if its a glitch or not, and havent played with it much since our print cut workflow is completely broken.... was hoping it wouldnt take them so long to fix it, but a few months is ridiculous for a major bug like that... I'm likelly going to drop down to onyx 24 until its fixed, just wish they were more communicative!
