Pinch wheel lever broke off HP 26500

new problem: on one of my hp l26500.. I cannot lower the pinch wheels anymore.. the lever broke off somewhere inside probably where it is attached to the axle.. This seams extremly hard to reach and I cant really find a good manual .
Any Idea of what I have to take apart to not over do it ?

It's a little painful. You have to remove the right cover, back cover, under cover and remove the right end limiter. Then I think you can unscrew the black part and pull it off.
Something along this line anyway.
