JOB DESCRIPTION

The Graphics Specialist - Print Production and Finishing/Installation position reports to the Production Manager and will work directly in the large and small format print production. They will produce products to customer’s specifications in a timely manner. Attention to detail is a must and important to be successful in this position. This individual will work with large format digital printers, small format digital printers, laminators, routers, and a variety of materials. Must have extensive knowledge of large and small format printers and willing to learn new equipment, software, and processes. The main goal is to provide high quality graphic products correctly and on time. Additional responsibility includes installation of signage as needed.

ESSENTIAL PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluates each image for quality and color accuracy prior to printing.
Follows order details for producing each product.
Keeps Graphics Production Manager, CSSR and Graphics Account Manager informed about job status and any issues that may arise.
Maintains inventory and is responsible for keeping production area clean.
Maintains graphics printers by performing the necessary tasks of loading and unloading media, calibrating printers, cleaning on a regular basis and performing regular maintenance as needed.
Performs graphic finishing tasks such as cutting & trimming, lamination, etc.
Reads and makes sure order details are understood before printing and producing.
Responsible for making sure products meet our customer’s exact specifications.
Responsible for placing service calls when printers are not functioning properly.
Responsible for printing large and small format orders.
Responsible for updating internal workflow tracking software with due date and job status.
Utilizes Raster Imaging Processing (RIP) software to select the proper media, quality and color settings to produce products according to customer’s specifications.
Performs quality assurance measures pre and post-production
Woks on different projects simultaneously

Job Qualifications:

A Graphics Specialist - Print Production and Finishing/Installations must have the following qualifications:

Ability to work independently but can take direction and coaching when given.
Able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
Can multitask.
Excellent communications skills, in person, on the phone or through email.
Excellent customer service skills.
Experience with bindery equipment and lamination.
Extensive knowledge of print ready files.
Extensive knowledge of small and large format material
Extensive knowledge of large and small format printers.
Extreme attention to detail.
Familiarity with Onyx rip.
High energy and a positive attitude.
Highly organized.
Knowledge of Adobe creative suite of products to include Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.
Lift 75 lbs.
Must have integrity
Process oriented.
Self-motivated
Takes pride in producing a high-quality product.
Team Player
Must have worked in a sign shop for at least 1 year
Must have experience installing signage for at least 1 year
Must be willing to undergo a drug test and background check, in accordance with local law/regulations
Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $19.00 /hour
