print wood grain panels on perforated window vinyl.

Customer would like his glass office door to look like the other office doors from the outside but still be able to see out from inside his office. I have provided pictures. I am sure this has been done. I am a little concerned as to making the perforated window vinyl look dark enough any suggestions on printing wood grains or specific window vinyl to use would be appreciated.

Thanks Dave.

It's always hard to blend something artificial in with something real and existing. No matter what, it's not going to be a perfect blend. It will appear lighter, some people will be able to see through it, but most of all, it won't really fool anyone and probably just be an eye sore to the customer.

When you want to make a patch for something, make it obvious it's not going to fit in. Suggest making a realistic photo or a completely different insert. Just not the same wood.

Sounds like it would look kinda cheesy, if you are going to do it though, you should tint the other side of the window so its pretty dark, otherwise you will be able to see right through the perf like it's barely there with a brightly lit hallway right behind it.

lmao that is soooo funny and sorta cool. What if the guy on the other side of the door just stood there staring blankly straight in at you? Hmm... might make me feel a bit awkward. But I suppose tinting that side of the window makes sense... hopefully he isn't open when all the lights are out on the hallway :) otherwise you will be able to see INTO the office and not OUT OF the office afterhours please keep us posted on what you do with this project!

Just curious if you ended up doing this and how it turned out. My mom is wanting me to do the same type of thing for her front door on her house. To help keep some of the heat out in the summer time when the sun shines through, Only has to look good from the street. If you did print this do you have any pictures?
