Question re: installing DX4 print head

Am installing new DX4 print head in a SC-540.
Service manual states to remove ink from the line,
however,
I'm running bulk tanks - so want to bypass that.

I imagine the head is empty, so how do I proceed?

Just fit the new head, replace the damper while you are there, run a cleaning cycle or two, run the calibration tests to align the head and you are right to go.
