I am planning to move to use bulk ink in my Roland printer. There are some cartridges with and without chips, I don't know how to reset the chip....so wouldn't be better to use the cartridge without chips?
I don't think our printers read the chip. I have some refill bulk carts in right now and other than they hold more than the 220 ml they work fine. The ink left reading on the printer will reset to full if you pull a cart out and put back in no matter how much ink it has. I also have some 440 carts in and when the reading gets to empty I plan on just taking the cart out and put back in to get a full reading again and it should be close to monitor ink levels. In regular carts they have a clip that pops out to signal the printer the cart is empty. The refill carts I have don't have that so you need to watch the ink levels and keep filling when needed.
You can get some refill carts that hold more than 220 ml but look similar in size. They don't stick out quite so far and less chance of bumping into them. They are between $10 and $20 depending on where you get them.
