"Recall" for Chrome?

Certainly reads like it:

Not really a fan much of what passes for "AI" either at the OS level or at the browser level (essentially another OS within the main OS). I know some of y'all are are Chrome users and I have to wonder how many "data partners" are going to be there to help out Google with handling all that telemetry?

I do think have DeGoogled Chromium without the implementation, have the APIs for it, but it's not all rolled out by default. Most browsers have some type of "AI" in them already, so that in in of itself isn't the issue, this is just piling it on what they are capable now as it is. And with as much sensitive stuff that travels through the browsers, having offsite connections at all, particularly in the browser just isn't a good idea.

That is ironically the new currency, data. Most vendors that were the old school software vendors are really just data brokers now.

Sad state of things, but a lot of people allowed it to happen as well.
