Stumped and need help...Could there possibly be a few more fonts similar to Garamond?

Gah - sometime I want to rip my eyes out when I come across yet another of the 1000 variations of garamond, book, minion, lucida, etc, etc etc...

Any ideas on this one? Some elements are destinctly not matching anything I've flipping through. Wide base on the V, no upward sticking serifs......
