Substrate cart

I have been searching the threads for 2 days and haven't found a thread I seen awhile back about a cart someone made or seen at a different forum that they use to move 4' x 8' sheets of material around the shop. It tilts up to get the sheet that is on edge, then you tilt it down onto wheels to move the material around like a wheel barrow. Can anybody point me in the right direction.

Here's mine. This isn't exactly a substrate cart, but more of a moving/infeed table for my table saw. Great when working with 3/4 MDO cause dat chit is heavy. I don't have the flip out bars that act as a lip to hold the material installed yet. This basically works as a portable worktable but will be able to lift the board 12" off the ground and then it flips the substrate up flat... exact same height as my table saw.

When you're done with it, you kick the support and it drops down to the horizontal position. I have the pivot bolts tight enough that it drops slowly.

I have two solid casters mounted underneath and two wooden posts. I did this instead of swivel because I wanted it to stay put when I was sliding boards off of it.

Since these pictures were taken, I installed a flip up arm so I can steer it easier when I push it around.

Thanks, it's not the one I seen, BUT I like it. Do you have just 2 casters so you lift up on it like a wheelbarrow and move it around?

Correct. It's got a 2'x4' base , so it's pretty solid. The flip up extension handle makes moving around an 100+ lbs with one hand a breeze.

I went with solid casters in the front and solid blocks of wood in the back because I didn't want it moving around when I pushed substrate off of it.

Here is one of the Uline carts... you could build something very similar out of wood.

Thank you John L, that is the one I remember seeing. Now I have 2 carts that I will make, this one and Weaselboogie's.

The biggest problem I see with that round cart thingy is that you have to have 8' in width free to move a sheet around.. we don't have that luxury most of the time.
