Summa / HP Cutter

Our cutter works perfectly fine from the HP barcodes after a printed piece is placed in the cutter.
What it won't do anymore is just cut from Flexi on vinyl that's not printed.
It keeps saying checking for connection/check the cables/insert media - of which of course I've done multiple times. The ip address is good too.
Anyone else had this happen?

ummm, would you please be specific? like do i reinstall flexi or is the cutter software on the pc? sorry for being so obtuse. p.s. thanks for the reply

Remove the cutter from the production manager and add it new.

Thank you for the suggestion. So i would go into Production Manager and remove the Cutter.? Even though I'm using Flexi Cut to cut only? How do i get it back.? The company set it up for me and i'm not sure if there's a specific file stored on the hard drive - there is an HP folder with presets - but that's all i found. Any insight before I botch the entire print and cut is so very gratefully accepted.
