Hey everyone. I recently developed a software that automates doing sign layouts. I'm in the beginning phases of negotiations with a company interested in buying it, but I fear that they may be stalling. My software is patent pending, and I'm trying to develop a plan B in the event they don't want to buy it, or they offer me way below what I feel it's worth. I have a second buyer lined up already, but they plan on keeping it proprietary and not marketing it for licensing.

I wish I could show what it does because I'm actually really proud of it, but since I'm in negotiations with a potential buyer I can't.

I'm trying to gather information on what it would cost me to get it set up for licensing myself in the event a fair price isn't agreed upon, so I'm curious what you guys think

I'm considering 2 options:
1. One time payment for perpetual license. No updates, no mobile app.
2. Monthly subscription with updates, and mobile app that will tie into a server that will process sign layouts, and allows you to send artwork submittals and print files from your phone.

Please help me out end pick the maximum you'd pay for it.

hard to say without actually seeing what it does. Is this artificial intelligence type design stuff?
Yeah I know, I wish I could.

It's not Ai based. Ai is good but too inconsistent for generating sign layouts. It's completely rule based for now. I'm working on implementing Ai for order processing, where you can upload the PO and it can automatically read it and create sign layouts with even less user input but I need to get my hands on some beefier hardware. However since the GPU market is all jacked up right now I'm not focusing on that right now. The software works great as it is.
