Unidirectional vs bi directional printing

So which one should I use. Ive used both and dont really see a difference other than faster. What are your guys opinions.

depends on the application, and media

90% of the printing is done bi, as most signs will not be

uni is used for photo, fine art imprint, high DPI, close inspection, canvas/ trade show banners (matte more than gloss)

99% of the time bi-directional is what you want to use. Mostly because of the higher speed. If your alignments are dead on, you should never have quality issues. Unidirectional should only be used for extremely high quality prints and/or on materials that have a tendency to show banding/lawn mower effect.

Yes, 4x8 sheets go pretty fast now. :)

What was I thinking. I thought it had to do with the data communication going back and forth to the computer. Ah, learning.
