Use of PVC for exterior sign

Good morning. I have searched the forum and found several opinions on PVC but nothing that fits what I am wanting to do exactly. Here is what I need your opinion on. I have a non-profit client that is wanting to replace a bulky illuminated sign (4' x 5') with a smaller sign to give them a presence in a new location (3' x 4'). I was wanting to build a treated frame of 2 x 6 and skin it with 1/2" exterior grade PVC. The PVC would carry no weight and is in a relatively sun-free area nearly year round. The signface itself would be dibond or aluminum which would cover the front of the frame. The PVC would be used as an exterior border around the frame. I have six 8" x 8' exterior PVC boards from a previous contract job that I am wanting to utilize. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
