Using garment heat transfer equipment/material for awning decals?

We're basically a wrap shop/screen printing/sticker factory/sign shop, in that order, but we also have a heat press that we use every now and then when a client wants clothing items screen printed but needs under the minimum, more colors, or something rushed same day. Every now and then we're asked to apply heat transfer graphics to an awning. It can be tricky, because the printed decal is usually much larger than the t shirt heat press. We orient the art on the awning, and press one 16x20" area, then slide the awning over and press the next one. It feels really flawed, especially with larger awnings. Does anyone have advice for heat transfer decals on large canvas awnings? My two main things are: #1 any reccommendations for print material different than the garment stuff (we use Siser) brand)? Some kind of outdoor, canvas specific, heat transfer material? #2 Short of buying a larger press, any advice for applying heat transfer decals to a large awning?
Any insights welcome. Thanks!

We do it the same way although now we'd switched to DTF since we do that in house and have the larger 30" Mimaki's. I have always thought that we should buy one of those little crickut brand hand held heat presses to make it easier...
