Wasatch vs. VW: DISCUSS!

I'm looking for some opinions on whether I should convert all of my Rolands over to VW from Wasatch.

What pro's & con's do you have on either RIP?
Which RIP is better at matching color between units?
Which is better for nesting & printing large, unmonitored job loads?
Have you noticed a difference in RIP time between the 2?

Thanks for the help....:thankyou:

What version of Wasatch are you currently using? If it's the old vesion 4.x or 5.x, I would suggest upgrading instead of switching. Newer versions of Wasatch have much better performance and a MUCH improved user interface. (I still haven't found another RIP that is as easy to use out of the box as Wasatch 6.x.)

IMHO, Wasatch has a superior spot color management tool in the combo of the Color Atlas Generator and Spot Color Replacement tool.

Profiling in Wasatch requires a third-party tool such as i1Profiler, but considering that i1Profiler's ICC engine is built into some more expensive RIP packages such as Caldera, it's not a bad investment to make.
