XP/XG reviews?

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you had bought one of the new printers yet? I currently have an XR which has been a tank, but the ink cost savings look good with the new printers. Any real world experience with them yet?

Also, should I go look at the XG with the cutter? The cutting function is far from perfect on the XR and I do have a plotter next to my printer I use for contour cutting sometimes. I could utilize it more for that if I needed to.

Of course the XR is/was a very nice printer.
I have a long time 15+ Roland customer that purchased an XP the day it was announced in January.
He has had multiple Roland printers over the years, including 2 XR’s VS, SP etc.
He loves his XP printer. He said he wished if they had this technology from day one it would’ve been amazing. As he has always had some issues with all the printers in the past.
It does do a very nice job. I installed one two weeks ago as well.
The XG we have at the shop as a demo and have not sold one yet, but it is a very nice printer as well, basically an XP with a cutter.
Hopefully this helps.
Not sure where you’re from but if you’re “from” numbers are your ZIP Code, you’re actually not too far from us and we would be glad to show you the XG. I have installed printers in that zip code.

I can't give you 'real world' experience as I sell the devices, but I can say they are built on proven platforms and work very, very well. The XP is likely my favorite unit because if it was my money, I'd want to put a Summa plotter right next to the Roland printer. The Summa T series is dramatically better than any print+cut device and clearly better than the standalone Roland or Graphtec plotters. I also preach going with the dual CMYK setup for blazing speed.

It honestly makes little sense why this ink set is so much less expensive than the previous models, but you'd be looking at cutting your ink costs in nearly half compared to what you are using.

We are based in Ohio...if I can send you some numbers, by all means please let me know. Mark@HascoGraphics.com
